A winter wonderland

sitting by the fire

warm. The icy wind swirls as do

my thoughts.

Anon the holidays return

methinks. Perchance I may finally

get what I want.

For the memories I make with you to

stick like snow,

for your Icy heart to melt and let

us rejoice as we once used to

walking in my winter wonderland with you.

Sophmore Poem:

A whisper of a ghost on the window above me

Icy memories anon disappear

“oh”. I think “methinks I’ll go skating”

Hark

did you hear the break in the ice?

a crackle like fire

a parallel so vicious

vicious like the cold that grips and slices my arms

and legs like a thousand frosted thorns

“Perchance I’ll survive” I thought minutes ago

but now Snow devours my lungs like a never

satiated beast.

Junior Poem:

A time many call cold, Perchance it’s something more.

For many memories fade like melting ice.

For a time the old reward the nice.

Winter comes anon, so all youth rejoice

Yet in the back of the mind a voice,

Taunts many that share less than us.

Hark, celebrate the coming times,

For it brings us all a peaceful home

But methinks and feels an unfortunate sore.

That this is a time many just call cold.

Winter is one of four

But, Methinks it is the best.

Hark the carolers in the streets

Feel the snowflakes on the ground

See the lights a glow.

Spring, Summer, Fall are all second best

Hear the bells

Feel the warmth of the sweater

see the skaters and the snowmen.

And perchance you will agree.

Soak it in when the flakes fall

Because soon the snow will melt

The trees will turn green

And the flowers will bloom

But do not fret, because winter shall return

Anon.
